Comments:
- The draw used ball set 2 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £24.82.
One in every 55.2 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.81% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,190,800.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
- The winning number triple
02, 38, 48 is the 15th such
triple to have appeared 3 times since
the lottery began.
- All ticket
combinations have managed at least one 2-match
in the history of the lottery now that the numbers 9 and 10 have zapped the
last one not to have achieved this.
- This was the first time that 4 consecutive draws had 5 or more
jackpot winners or had
individual jackpots below £2m.
- On-line
ticket sales increased for the second
consecutive "normal" week for the first time this year.
- Not a single match on either of my tickets this week, which last
happened 12 weeks ago. My fourth choice ticket (which I
only buy during a rollover week) would have won £10 this week if I'd
actually bought it.
- £626,383 of unclaimed prizes (2.06% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 13th March 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
