Comments:
- The draw used ball set 7 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £26.33.
One in every 58.6 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.71% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £6,718,856.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 3 wins totalling £30.
- Anthea Turner hosted her last ever lottery
TV show this week after 18 months in the
job.
- The number 28 is now joint top of the main number
frequency table (14th appearance)
and outright top of the winning number
frequency table
(19th appearance).
- The two winning number triples
23, 28, 48 and 29, 31, 40 have now both appeared 3 times in the history of
the lottery, making them joint top of the table with four other triples.
- With the continual increase of
Lucky Dip sales during normal
weeks, the manual sales have now
fallen to their lowest level for 36 weeks.
- Just one match on each of my two tickets, so no cause for celebration as
usual. If this draw was a rollover, I would have won £10 because my
fourth choice
ticket matched 3 numbers.
- £802,862 of unclaimed prizes (2.58% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 17th October 1996 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
