Comments:
- The draw used ball set 2 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £15.47.
One in every 49.1 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.04% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £2,418,038.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 2 wins totalling £20.
- Bob Monkhouse hosted the lottery
TV show for the first of 8 consecutive
programmes he'll be presenting.
- This draw had the second lowest
average prize
in the history of the lottery.
- There was a record number of 3-match
winners for a normal draw where the
jackpot wasn't won. This meant that the
total prizes awarded for such a draw
was also the highest ever.
- The ticket sales dropped for
the third consecutive week, meaning that they have now hit their lowest level
this year. This also affected the
combined sales,
which yet again hit their lowest point since the
first week the scratchcards were introduced.
- No matches on the first and only one match on the second ticket for me,
but at least no-one else won the jackpot :-)
- £723,092 of unclaimed prizes (3.33% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 24th October 1996 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
