Comments:
- The draw used ball set 5 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £20.63.
One in every 45.9 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.18% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,379,126.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included no wins.
- This draw had the second largest number of jackpot winners and hence the
second smallest jackpot prize ever.
- There were record
ticket sales for a
non-rollover/Super Draw week, probably due to the anniversary of the
lottery. This managed to boost the
total prize pool over the £30m
mark for the first time during a "normal" week.
- The number 48 has been the highest number in three consecutive
draws, which has never happened before.
- No matches for me, although my mother managed a 3-match with a random
selection and won herself £10 for the first time. She obviously used
one of the 9 million
ticket combinations
that have won a prize to date.
- Note that the full results for the
next lottery will not be available on these pages
until Tuesday 28th November.
- £795,327 of unclaimed prizes (2.65% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 16th May 1996 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
