Comments:

• The draw used ball set 7 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £27.28. One in every 60.7 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.65% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,603,548.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included no wins.
• The number 22 joins six other numbers at the top of the main number frequency table with its 8th such appearance. It now also grabs the outright lead of the winning number frequency table by becoming the first ball to reach double figures in such a table.
• Although ticket sales dropped by over 750,000 this week, Camelot must be pleased that this was the first time two consecutive "normal" weeks (and the first time for any three consecutive weeks too) have had ticket sales in excess of 65 million.
• It's interesting to note how there's been some 15 more winning balls each of pink and yellow colours (5 of the 7 balls this week for instance) drawn than of blue and green colours since the lottery started...
• Only one match for me this week as I unerringly miss those millions yet again.
• £672,417 of unclaimed prizes (2.30% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 29th February 1996 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
