Comments:
- The draw used ball set 7 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £28.68.
One in every 63.8 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.57% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £5,982,154.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included no wins.
- Dale Winton returned for his second stint (4 weeks this time)
presenting the lottery TV show.
- This was only the second time that the same bonus number
(44 in this case) had appeared
in two consecutive draws. The first time was when the number
5 appeared as a bonus number
in both lotteries #49 and #50.
- Needless to say, this also moved the number 44 back to the joint top
of the winning number frequency
table (shared with the
number 28) with its 20th
appearance as one of the seven numbers drawn.
- The winning number pair 36, 45 has now appeared
6 times in the sets of 7 drawn numbers, which means it shares the lead at
the top of the table with three
other pairs.
- Just one match for me on my second ticket (nothing on the first),
so nothing to shout about this week.
- £822,750 of unclaimed prizes (2.71% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 6th February 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
