Comments:
- The draw used ball set 3 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £28.19.
One in every 62.7 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.59% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,526,531.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
- The draw-shy number 39 popped its head out for only
the 5th time to date, still leaving it two appearances adrift at the
bottom of the main number frequency
table and four adrift at the
base of the winning number
version.
- This draw had the second narrowest
range (20=39-19) of main numbers
in the history of the lottery.
- As I predicted, the figure for the
total prizes awarded by the
lottery to date has now exceeded £3 billion.
- This was the 12th consecutive draw that the jackpot was
won,
which is the second longest such sequence to date.
- Over £2 billion has now been spent on
scratchcards.
- Ticket sales
rose for the fourth consecutive week which has surprisingly never
happened before.
- Lucky Dip sales continued to
impressively rise, this time reaching an all-time record level and
also exceeding 11% of ticket sales for the first time.
- Not a single match on either of my tickets this week :-(
- £839,859 of unclaimed prizes (2.72% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 27th March 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
