Comments:

• The draw used ball set 6 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £22.72. One in every 50.6 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.98% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,240,429.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 8 wins totalling £141.
• The 45th appearance of the main number 38 has moved it into outright second in that frequency table, only one behind the number 4.
• Less than 75,000 ticket combinations have now failed to win in any of the 278 lotteries to date.
• This draw had the lowest Saturday ticket sales for almost a year (and that draw last September wasn't even televised !).
• I matched nothing on either of my two tickets, so Wednesday's win hasn't influenced this draw one iota...
• £993,218 of unclaimed prizes (2.67% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 18th February 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
