Comments:
- The draw used ball set 2 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £30.56.
One in every 49.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.04% of players).
- This was the 32nd Super Draw and the jackpot pool was a guaranteed £20,000,004.
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,211,687.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 8 wins totalling £80.
- The number 14 has rejoined the numbers
25 and 44 at the top of the main
number frequency
table by virtue of
its 42nd appearance. It's also extended its lead to two
at the top of the winning number
frequency table
by appearing for the 51st time.
- The number 39 has closed the gap (to two)
to the number 37 at the bottom of the main
number frequency table after its 22nd appearance.
- The winning number triple
03, 14, 30 has become the first to
appear five times
since the lottery began.
- This draw had the second highest number of 5+bonus
winners ever and hence also
the second smallest 5+bonus individual prize since the
lottery began.
- I matched two numbers on my second ticket, but nothing
else on my other three tickets, so the World Cup play-off
game and the £20m Super Draw didn't help me,
unsurprisingly.
- £1,384,335 of unclaimed prizes (2.07% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 7th January 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
Next Lottery: #267 (Wednesday 15th July 1998) [No jackpot winners]
