Comments:
- The draw used ball set 2 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £34.77.
One in every 57.6 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.74% of players).
- This was the 28th Super Draw and the jackpot pool was a guaranteed £10,000,000.
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,619,522.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 6 wins totalling £108.
- The 21st appearance of the main number 15 has
left the number 39 rooted to the bottom of the
frequency table with one
less appearance. It has also left the number 39 four
adrift of the rest at the basement of the winning number
frequency table
with 21 appearances.
- The number 40 made its first appearance in 25
draws, handing the longest absentee mantle to the number
49 (which hasn't appeared as a
main or
winning number
for 22 draws now).
- Three ticket combinations
have now 19 prizes since the lottery began.
- A 5+bonus prize of £62,782 won by a ticket bought in the
East Staffordshire area remains unclaimed at the moment.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and absolutely
nothing on my three other tickets. This failure was made worse by
the fact that if I'd bought four extra tickets for a double rollover
(rather than the extra two for this Super Draw), my fifth ticket
would have won £10.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm GMT on Monday 26th October 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
