Comments:
- The draw used ball set 4 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £27.33.
One in every 60.8 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.64% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,597,549.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
- The number 15 has joined the numbers
37 and 19 at the bottom of the
main number frequency table
by appearing for the 20th time. Its appearance also leaves the number
39 three adrift at the basement of the winning number
frequency table.
- The winning number pair 05, 43 has become only the second
such pair to have appeared
11 times since the lottery began.
- It's the 7th consecutive draw where
ticket sales have fallen (relative to
the previous week's equivalent draw i.e. Wed-to-Wed or Sat-to-Sat),
which has never happened before.
- For the first time ever, Lucky Dip sales dropped for the
5th consecutive week.
- All colours
have now appeared at least 300 times as winning number balls.
- I matched nothing on my first ticket and only one number on my second
ticket to continue my terrible run of luck.
- £969,848 of unclaimed prizes (2.44% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 17th September 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
Next Lottery: #235 (Wednesday 25th March 1998) [4 jackpot winners]
