Comments:
- The draw used ball set 3 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £21.05.
One in every 41.7 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.40% of players).
- This was the 22nd Super Draw and the jackpot pool was a guaranteed £5,000,000.
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,581,914.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 3 wins totalling £30.
- The main number 43 has closed the gap to five to the
leading main number (44) by making its 32nd
appearance.
- The winning number 39 has failed to be
drawn for 40
consecutive lotteries, which is the joint third longest such
absence ever.
- There were a record number of 5-match winners
for a Wednesday draw, which naturally led to the lowest Wednesday
5-match prize ever (and the second lowest 5-match prize for any draw to date).
- Ticket sales for Wednesday draws have now
exceeded £1 billion since they were introduced
back in February.
- I matched only one number on my second ticket and nothing on the other
three tickets, so that's another Super Draw where I'm in the red.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 6th April 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
