Comments:
- The draw used ball set 1 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £23.58.
One in every 52.5 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.90% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,548,773.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 4 wins totalling £40.
- The number 44 continues to streak ahead at the top of
the main number (leading by four
after its 34th appearance) and
winning number
(three ahead after appearing for the 39th time) frequency tables.
- The main number pair 44, 47 is one of only eight such pairs
to have
appeared 7 times since the lottery began.
As a winning number pair,
it's now also tied with two other pairs at the top of the
table after appearing for the ninth
time.
- The winning number 46 has now failed to
appear in 37
consecutive draws, which is the joint second longest such
absence ever.
- One ticket combination
has now won 15 prizes in the history of the lottery.
- I matched one number on each of my tickets, which means I've now lost in
55 consecutive draws.
- £989,665 of unclaimed prizes (2.52% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 19th February 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
