Comments:
- The draw used ball set 1 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £20.18.
One in every 44.9 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.23% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,629,615.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 2 wins totalling £20.
- The number 37 has moved off the bottom of
the main number table
with its 21st appearance, leaving the numbers
15 and 39 at the bottom with one
less appearance.
- Ticket sales dropped for a record
9th consecutive draw (relative to
the previous week's equivalent draw i.e. Wed-to-Wed or Sat-to-Sat).
- Lucky Dip sales dropped for a record 6th consecutive week.
- Over £2 billion pounds has been awarded in jackpot
prizes since the lottery began.
- In a staggering mistake, the third ball of Saturday's first ever
TV Dreams TV Home Play draw was drawn using the wrong ball set,
so there's two sets of TV Home Play numbers that Camelot will honour after
re-drawing the third number:
On-camera TV Home Play numbers: 49 11 35 55
Off-camera TV Home Play numbers: 49 11 31 55
The Studio Play jackpot was £85,000.
- I matched two numbers on my first ticket and one on my
second ticket, so the first National Lottery Big Ticket
show did me no favours, that's for sure.
- £274,709 of unclaimed prizes (0.70% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 24th September 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
Next Lottery: #237 (Wednesday 1st April 1998) [No jackpot winners]
