Comments:
- The draw used ball set 3 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £19.75.
One in every 44.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.27% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,460,434.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 3 wins totalling £30.
- The 18th appearance of the main number 13 has left
the number 15 two adrift at the bottom of the
frequency table.
- The number 13 also appeared after being absent for 49 consecutive
draws (as either a main or winning number) handing the
longest absentee crowns to the main number 20 (not
appeared for 30 draws)
and the winning number 12 (not
appeared for 25 draws).
- The pair 21, 29 has now
appeared 8 times as a main number
pair
and 10 times as a winning number
pair since the lottery began
(putting it joint top of both frequency tables).
- It was only the third time that all 7
winning numbers were 30 or less
(and all three times have been in 1997 !).
- I matched one number on each of my two tickets to close off 1997 on
an inevitable losing note.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 29th June 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
