Comments:
- The draw used ball set 2 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £21.51.
One in every 47.8 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.09% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,205,333.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
- The number 5 stretched its lead to two at
the top of the main number frequency table
with its 25th appearance and to three at the top of the winning
number frequency table
by being drawn for the 30th time.
- With the number 10 appearing for the 12th time as
a main number and the 14th time as a winning number,
the rarest numbers,
19 and 37, are now two adrift from the rest
of the pack in both the main and winning number frequency tables.
- The number pair 05, 25 is only the second main number pair
to have appeared 7 times and only the
third winning number pair to have been
drawn 8 times in the
history of the lottery.
- The ticket sales were the lowest
ever, which lead to the third lowest
prize pools in all categories
(and in total) since the lottery began.
- I matched one number on each of my tickets, which means I've
now failed to win for 14 draws :-(
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 29th September 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
