Comments:
- The draw used ball set 8 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £20.77.
One in every 46.2 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.17% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,932,319.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 2 wins totalling £20.
- The main number 15 has now failed to
appear for 41 consecutive draws,
which is the joint second longest such
absence ever.
- The main number pair 17, 40 is now only one of nine such pairs
to have appeared
6 or more times since the lottery began.
- The ticket sales were yet again the
worst the lottery had ever seen.
- The 5+bonus and 4-match
prize pools were the
second lowest in the history of the lottery, whilst the
total prize pool was the third lowest ever.
- No win for me again as I failed to match a single number on either of
my tickets.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm GMT on Monday 27th October 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
