Comments:
- The draw used ball set 1 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £20.38.
One in every 45.3 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.21% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,955,915.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 3 wins totalling £30.
- The number 19 is no longer alone at the bottom of
either the main number (12 appearances,
tied with the number 21) or the
winning number (14 appearances,
tied with the number 39) frequency tables.
- For the second midweek draw running, the
ticket sales were the lowest ever seen
by the UK lottery for any draw to date.
- Because of the large number of jackpot winners for a midweek draw,
the individual jackpot
prize was the third lowest ever.
- This draw had the second lowest 4-match, 5-match, 5+bonus and won jackpot
prize pools in the history of the lottery,
as well as the third lowest total prize pool since the lottery began.
- The sixth ball drawn (the number 31) was the 1000th ball
drawn to date.
- I matched one number on each of my two tickets, which unsurprisingly
meant I lost again.
- A jackpot prize of £229,264 won by a ticket bought in the Caradon, East Cornwall area expired and was added to the Good Causes fund.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm GMT on Monday 3rd November 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
