Comments:

• The draw used ball set 1 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £32.47. One in every 54.5 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.84% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,144,030.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
• There were 6 even main numbers and 7 even winning numbers for the first time ever !
• Even more remarkably, the six main numbers were all multiples of four, which has also never happened before.
• Yet again, I had the most accurate prediction of the jackpot pool anywhere - I'd estimated £22m, whereas Camelot, the media and other WWW sites had estimated £20m.
• Only one match on each of my first and fourth tickets and nothing on the other two continues the worst run since Everton's 6 losses in a row (they just won though !).
• £902,186 of unclaimed prizes (1.95% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 31st July 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
