Comments:
- The draw used ball set 7 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £25.17.
One in every 56.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.79% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £5,366,693.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 2 wins totalling £20.
- This was Bob Monkhouse's last ever appearance (hopefully !) as the host
of the lottery TV show. He was replaced by
Dale Winton from the next show onwards.
- The appearance of the main number 5 for the 20th time
has brought it to within one appearance of the frequency
table leader
(number 44).
However, as a winning number, it's now tied with
the number 44 at the top of that
table (both on 25 appearances).
- Lucky Dip sales exceeded £10 million
for a normal draw for the first time ever.
- Two matches on my first ticket and one on my second ticket continued my
recent dismal losing run.
- A 5+bonus prize of £158,977 won by a ticket bought in the Barnet, Hertfordshire area expired and was added to the Good Causes fund.
- £1,121,329 of unclaimed prizes (3.53% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 19th June 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
