Comments:

• The draw used ball set 2 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £21.38. One in every 47.6 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.10% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,380,255.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 9 wins totalling £140.
• This draw had only the third ever winning number quad in the history of the lottery.
• Ball set 2 has become the first ball set to be used 50 times to date.
• The sum of all the winning balls in the 282 lotteries to date has now exceeded 50,000.
• This draw had the lowest Saturday ticket sales for a year (and that draw last September wasn't even televised !).
• I matched one number on both of my tickets for this draw, to add to the misery of England losing their first Euro2000 soccer qualification match against Sweden.
• £1,019,845 of unclaimed prizes (2.76% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 4th March 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
