Comments:

• The draw used ball set 4 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £27.30. One in every 53.8 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.86% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,464,275.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
• The number 25 has joined the number 5 at the top of the main number frequency table by appearing for the 27th time.
• The number 25 has also closed the gap to one to the winning number frequency table leader, the number 5, by appearing for the 32nd time as one of the seven drawn balls.
• The number 15 has now failed to appear for 52 consecutive draws as one of the 6 main balls, which ties with the number 39 for the all-time record of the longest such absence ever.
• Ticket sales were the second lowest ever for a rollover draw.
• Less than 750,000 ticket combinations have now failed to win a prize in any of the 152 draws to date.

  Camelot have now officially admitted this error (they rounded the 97.28p figure up to the next pound instead of down) and have honoured the extra £1 for each jackpot winner out of Camelot's own funds.
• I matched nothing on my first ticket and only one number on my second ticket to stretch my losing streak to 33 draws....
• £1,095,306 of unclaimed prizes (2.79% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 4th December 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
