Comments:
- The draw used ball set 4 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £18.20.
One in every 40.6 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.46% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,995,604.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 16 wins totalling £160.
- Remarkably, the top four most popular
main numbers (38,
23, 25 and 44) all appeared in this
draw, so people tracking "hot numbers" would have struck lucky with at
least a £29 win. As you might have also expected,
two of those four numbers (38 and 25) managed to stretch
their leads at the top of the winning number frequency
table after their 124th and
109th such appearances respectively.
- Eight ticket combinations have
now won 32 prizes in the 623 lotteries to date.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and nothing on my second ticket,
so I can only hope that buying a Christmas Millionaire Maker ticket this
week will improve my luck in the run-up to the Yuletide period.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 10th June 2002 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
