Comments:
- The draw used ball set B in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £19.63.
One in every 43.7 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.29% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,591,083.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included no wins.
- For the fourth week out of the seven so far, 44 was the highest number.
I suspect a lot of people chose 44 this week after its 50% appearance in the
first 6 weeks, which may explain the million-plus winners despite 4 of the
numbers being more than 31.
- There were only six 5+bonus winners this week - the least so far. However,
there were 80,321 four match winners - the most so far - and the total number
of winners was also the highest so far, beating
Lottery #5's record by nearly 7,000 winners.
- ITV's teletext page 123 transposed the digits of the 3 match winners and
claimed there were 1,137,768 winners. They also incredibly failed to tell you
what the exact jackpot amount was, but they did tell you about the
exact lesser prizes ! I ended up swallowing my pride and buying The Sun in the
end - isn't it mad that the crappiest newspaper in the UK has the best lottery
results reporting of any media [except me of course] ?
- Another near miss for me as two numbers matched and THREE of my other
numbers were exactly 4 out...
- £890,617 of unclaimed prizes (3.72% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 29th June 1995 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
Next Lottery: #8 (Saturday 7th January 1995) [No jackpot winners]
