Comments:
- The draw used ball set 3 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £15.96.
One in every 51.1 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.96% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £3,888,775.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 4 wins totalling £40.
- The number 38 has joined the number
2 at the top of the main number frequency
table after its
53rd appearance.
- The number 47 has become the first one
to appear
15 times as a bonus number.
- The main number triple 01, 07, 38 is one of only
seven such
triples to have appeared
four times since the lottery began. As a winning number
triple, it's joined
six others such triples at the top of the table with its
fifth such appearance.
- The BBC announced that there was no jackpot winner during the
lottery TV show (which was scheduled to run for five minutes after
the balls came out, conveniently leaving enough time to
calculate this) - this was the first time that the
TV show had ever managed to give out a draw result.
- It's been
21 draws since the last unwon jackpot, which is
an outright record.
- I matched one number on each of my two tickets, so the
revamped Saturday lottery show didn't help me.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 26th August 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
