Comments:

• The draw used ball set 7 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £22.62. One in every 44.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.27% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,788,876.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 8 wins totalling £80.
• The top two most frequent main numbers, 25 and 28, both appeared in this draw, nicely place one number in each of the 47-51 appearances slots.
• The numbers 25 and 28 also moved away from the rest of the winning numbers pack with their 61st and 58th such appearances respectively.
• There are now less than 40,000 ticket combinations (out of a possible 13,983,816) that have failed to win a prize in any of the 312 lotteries to date.
• The appearance of the bonus number 34 broke its run of 25 consecutive draws without appearing as one of the seven drawn numbers. The new longest winning number absentee is now the number 33, which has failed to appear for 21 draws.
• I matched one number on my first and third tickets, nothing on my second ticket and two numbers on my fourth ticket, so another rollover passes me by without a win.
• £1,445,076 of unclaimed prizes (3.51% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 17th June 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
