Comments:
- The draw used ball set 2 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £31.16.
One in every 45.3 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.21% of players).
- This was the 34th Super Draw and the jackpot pool was a guaranteed £25,000,000.
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,611,885.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 6 wins totalling £60.
- The bonus number 47 has now joined the bonus number
20 at the top of the bonus number frequency
table after its 13th such
appearance.
- More than £7.5 billion of
prizes have now been awarded in
the 304 lotteries to date.
- This Super Draw had the largest
top-up
(£16,400,880) to the jackpot prize
pool of any of the 34 Super Draws so far.
- Scratchcard sales were the lowest
ever for a full week.
- I matched nothing on my first two tickets and only one number on
my third and fourth tickets, so I fared no worse than the 8,000 tickets
the Daily Mail newspaper bought for this draw as part of a
competition (which failed to win even one £10 prize !).
- A 5+bonus prize of £120,267 won by a ticket bought in the Liverpool area expired and was added to the Good Causes fund.
- £1,374,142 of unclaimed prizes (2.29% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 20th May 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
