Comments:
- The draw used ball set 2 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £26.09.
One in every 58.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.72% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £7,716,581.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 2 wins totalling £20.
- The number 25 is now joint top of the
main (40th appearance) and
winning (47th appearance)
number frequency tables (tying with the number 44).
- The number 47 has now appeared as a bonus number
for the 11th time, which makes it joint top of that frequency
table with the
number 20.
- Despite there being 30 possible machine and ball set
combinations,
Arthur and ball set 2 have now been used 25 times, which is more than
1 in every 10 draws.
- Ticket sales were the worst for a
Saturday draw for 8 months.
- Scratchcard sales were so poor this week (5th lowest weekly sales ever)
that they dragged the combined (lottery+scratchcard) weekly sales below
£100 million for the first time in
8 months.
- I didn't match anything on my two tickets (if it had been
a rollover or Super Draw, I would have won £10 on my fourth ticket).
- £1,134,832 of unclaimed prizes (2.93% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 5th November 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
