Comments:
- The draw used ball set 8 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £27.10.
One in every 60.3 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.66% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £5,332,598.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 2 wins totalling £20.
- ITV teletext claimed there were 1,091,136 3-match winners - wrong !
That was the total number of winners - a mere 50,000 or so out, but
who's counting ?
- For the first time, there were two previous appearances of a triple set
of numbers in the winning ticket, namely 29, 32 and 40
(Lottery #29) and
11. 29 and 40
(Lottery #3).
- This was the first time a number (10) has appeared in three consecutive
draws.
- One of the 5+bonus prizes (won by a ticket bought in Torquay) remained
unclaimed for 180 days and was duly added to the National Lottery Distribution
Fund.
- No matches for me at all with my ticket, which extends my losing streak
to 46 draws in a row.
- £918,903 of unclaimed prizes (3.11% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 28th March 1996 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
