Comments:

The draw used ball set 2 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £30.94. One in every 68.8 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.45% of players).

If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,247,982.

The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 15 wins totalling £239.

Thanks to two of the last four days being UK public holidays, ticket sales for the main draw plummeted to their lowest level ever for a Saturday draw, dipping below £39m for the first time. In fact, 2002 has been the worst year sales-wise for the lottery by a long, long way, with 35 of the 52 Saturday draws this year entirely occupying the bottom 35 out of the 424 all-time Saturday sales positions.

HotPicks also suffered terrible sales, dropping below £3m for the first time for a Saturday HotPicks game.

Only four ticket combinations have now failed to win in any of the 732 main lotteries to date.

I matched nothing on either of my two tickets, so that's another whitewash to notch up.

Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 26th June 2003 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
