Comments:
- The draw used ball set 3 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £25.24.
One in every 56.1 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.78% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,282,479.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 16 wins totalling £212.
- The lottery TV show wasn't televised this evening because
BBC 1 showed tributes to the Queen Mother who died peacefully
in her sleep at 3.15pm GMT today. The numbers and full results
were made public shortly before 9.00pm GMT.
- The two most popular numbers, 25
and 38, both appeared
in this draw for the 96th and 108th times respectively
as a main number
and for the 115th and 127nd times respectively as a
winning number.
- The main number pair 14, 38 has become only the
third such pair to have
appeared 19 times to date.
- One ticket combination
has now won 34 prizes in the 654 lotteries to date. In the
past year, that ticket has impressively achieved nine 3-match
wins, including managing 3-match wins in 2 consecutive draws
four times in that period.
- I matched nothing on my first ticket and two numbers on
my second ticket, so not seeing the TV show didn't help my
bad luck, that's for sure.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 26th September 2002 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
