Comments:
- The draw used ball set 6 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £39.69.
One in every 71.5 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.40% of players).
- This was the 33rd Super Draw and the 5+bonus pool was topped-up by £15,000,000.
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a profit of £4,833,436.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 6 wins totalling £60.
- The first ever 5+bonus Super Draw top-up predictably boosted the 5+bonus
individual prize and the 5+bonus prize pool to record levels - the first ever
millionaire 5+bonus winners were created by this draw of course.
- The main number 28 has now appeared in four
consecutive draws, which has only happened
with two other numbers (10 and 44) before.
- The 6 main numbers had the lowest
range (highest minus lowest) ever - only 16 !
- This draw had the lowest
ticket sales for a Saturday Super Draw ever.
- It's good job that this draw had no jackpot winners - if there had
been 5 jackpot winners, then the 5+bonus winners would have won more
than the jackpot winners, which would be highly controversial.
- It's been over
10 months since the jackpot wasn't won in a Saturday draw -
a staggering all-time record total of 45 Saturday draws between unwon jackpots !
- This week had the lowest ever
scratchcard sales for a full 7 days of sales.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and nothing on my three other
tickets, so the first ever 5+bonus Super Draw didn't help me win then.
- £984,878 of unclaimed prizes (2.26% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 18th March 1999 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
Next Lottery: #287 (Wednesday 23rd September 1998) [1 jackpot winner]
Previous Lottery: #285 (Wednesday 16th September 1998) [2 jackpot winners]
