Apart from the "obvious" mistake of rounding up instead of down, the error may have been a result of not rounding down the 45% of sales to the nearest 10p, which would give these figures:
Ticket sales 38,092,277 Prize pool 17,141,524.65 (45% of sales) Minus 3-match pool -6,639,290 Pools fund 10,502,234.65 Jackpot prize pool 5,461,162.018 (52% of pools fund) Rollover +8,917,762 Jackpot prize pool 14,378,924.018 (including rollover amount) Divide by winners (2) 7,189,462.009 Round down 7,189,462Camelot say the 10p round down rule does still apply, but that the fault lay with the external auditors, who made their second mistake in less than a month with the jackpot prize. Camelot honoured the extra £1 that was paid out to both of the jackpot winners.
