Comments:
- The draw used ball set 6 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £17.07.
One in every 56.1 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.78% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,333,085.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included no wins.
- The winning number 30 was finally drawn tonight
after an
absence
of 32 consecutive draws, which has handed over the current
mantle of longest winning number absentee to the number
4 which has now failed to
appear for
24 consecutive draws.
- The ticket sales were the lowest
ever, possibly impacted by the Camelot directors' pay rises
controversy.
- The jackpot prize was the
lowest ever not to be won.
- The number of 5-match
winners was the second lowest ever,
whilst the number of 4-match winners was the third lowest since the
lottery began.
- The total prize pool was the second
lowest seen to date.
- I matched one number on my first ticket and none on my second, which
continued my dismal losing streak naturally enough.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm GMT on Monday 1st December 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
