The next table displays the draw order, revised frequencies and the last prior appearance of each of the 7 balls.
Comments:
- The draw used ball set 6 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £18.76.
One in every 41.7 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.40% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,109,414.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
- The number 5 has moved to the outright top of the
main number frequency
table with its 22nd appearance
and has extended its lead to two at the top of the winning number
frequency table after
turning up for the 27th time.
- The seven balls only used the white and pink
colours, which was the first
time that only two colours had been used.
- Although there's been four balls of a particular colour several
times before, this was the first time that four white balls had been
drawn.
- The main six balls had the lowest sum
(73) ever.
- The sum of the seven winning
balls was the second lowest since the lottery began.
- It was only the second time that the 5+bonus
prize has been an
exact multiple of £1,000.
- This draw had the worst Saturday
ticket sales for over
21 months and also marked a record sixth
consecutive draw to show a fall in ticket sales.
- There have now been over 150 million
winners of the lottery since it
began.
- The lottery TV show started late
(the awful Noel's House Party overran by 2 minutes) and
the two musical guests caused it to lose complete track of
time and finish 5 minutes late.
- This was the final draw covered by my second lottery
subscription.
- I had one match on my first ticket and no matches on my second,
which means I haven't won for over a week now (not exactly a big
deal)...
- £1,120,741 of unclaimed prizes (2.54% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 21st August 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
