The next table displays the draw order, revised frequencies and the last prior appearance of each of the 7 balls.
Comments:
- The draw used ball set 1 in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £18.17.
One in every 40.4 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.48% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,939,493.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 3 wins totalling £30.
- The number 44 continues to set all sorts of records including:
- Its 19th appearance as a
main number,
extending its lead to 3 in that frequency table.
- Its 22nd appearance as a
winning number,
moving into an outright lead in that frequency table.
- Being the only number to have appeared in two consecutive draws as
a main number a total of four times.
- Appearing in four consecutive draws as a winning number, a feat only
previously achieved by the number
10 (although that went one
better and did it with main numbers).
- The main number triple
08, 18, 33 has become the first one to
appear
three times in the history of the lottery. It also, of course, became only
the 11th winning number triple to have
appeared three times.
- The 9th appearance of the number
8 as a winning number has left the number
39 five appearances adrift at the bottom of that
frequency table.
- The 4-match
prize was the joint third lowest ever.
- This draw had the lowest
prize pools of the year for the
(won) jackpot, 5+bonus, 5-match and 4-match categories.
- There have now been more than 500 lottery jackpot
winners and over 250 of them are
millionaires (ignoring syndicates...).
- I matched one number on each of my two tickets this week, which is better
than nothing I suppose.
- £893,300 of unclaimed prizes (2.93% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 20th February 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
