Comments:
- The draw used ball set 8 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £15.69.
One in every 49.9 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.00% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £2,842,613.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included one win of £10.
- This was the fourth time there's been no jackpot winner, although the
number of winners in all the other categories were the highest for such an
occasion.
In particular, there were over a million 3-match winners, which hasn't
happened on the previous draws where the jackpot wasn't won.
- As usual, Camelot quoted a prize pool figure including the
jackpot (i.e. a grand total of £28,468,457), which is incorrect of
course since there wasn't actually a jackpot prize this week. ITV and BBC
teletext dumbly repeated this incorrect figure of course and it's
not the first time they (or Camelot) have made this mistake. BTW, the
woman on the Camelot line on Sunday was most unhelpful and seemed totally
bored with the fact that I wanted the full results !
- This was the first draw where more than 4% of the
total prize pool
remained unclaimed after 180 days.
- The number 38 now joins 17 and 42 as having appearing the most (6) times
as a main number.
- This was the first time that 4 main numbers had appeared in the third
column of the playslip.
- It was also the first time 5 of the 6
main numbers (and 6 of the 7
winning numbers) were even.
- The numbers 8, 18 and 33 also appeared in
Lottery #15.
- No matches for me as my winless sequence reaches 23 draws in a row.
- £813,678 of unclaimed prizes (4.09% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 19th October 1995 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
