Comments:

• The draw used ball set 3 in the Lancelot machine and the average main Lotto prize was £36.89. One in every 71.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.41% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £6,043,574.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 3 wins totalling £30.
• The main number pair 14, 38 has become the 8th such pair to have appeared 8 times since the lottery began.
• Camelot incorrectly calculated the individual jackpot prize (their figure is £1 too high) - here's the calculations:

  Even if you skip rounding down to the nearest 10p (the Prize pool line would end in .65 instead of .60), it still doesn't evaluate correctly. This is a clear rounding error at the final stage (0.928 has been rounded up instead being rounded down). Similar errors have also been exclusively spotted on these pages for draws #152 and #159 and subsequently officially admitted as mistakes on the part of Camelot.
• I matched one number of each of my first three tickets and two numbers on my fourth ticket, so that's another failed rollover for me.
• £1,165,190 of unclaimed prizes (2.66% of the total prize pool of this week's Wednesday and Saturday draws) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 16th July 1998 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
