The next table displays the draw order, revised frequencies and the last prior appearance of each of the 7 balls.
Comments:
- The draw used ball set 5 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £26.80.
One in every 59.7 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.68% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £9,649,923.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 3 wins totalling £30.
- The appearance of the winning number 6 for the first time
in 27 draws has handed over the current longest
absentee title to the
number 18, which has failed to appear for the last
22 draws as one of the seven balls drawn.
- This was the first time that two consecutive draws had the same number
of 5+bonus and jackpot winners.
It was also the third consecutive draw with the same number of jackpot
winners, which has never happened before.
- The number of 4-match winners was the third lowest ever.
- The numbers of 3-match and total winners (and hence the sizes of
the 3-match and total prize pools) were
the second lowest in the history of the lottery.
- The ticket sales were the worst ever,
dipping below £26m for the first time.
- One match on my first ticket and two matches (and a
third number one out) on my second ticket predictably meant
I lost again.
- Unclaimed prizes from this draw expired at 11.00pm BST on Monday 6th October 1997 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
