The next table displays the draw order, revised frequencies and the last prior appearance of each of the 7 balls.
Comments:
- The draw used ball set A in the Guinevere machine and the average main Lotto prize was £19.09.
One in every 42.5 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.35% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,375,911.
- Incredible as it may seem for a one-minute draw, the
TV show was an hour long
and was hosted by the irritating Noel Edmonds, although thankfully this was
the one and only time he was to do so. Camelot made the error of labelling
the Guinevere machine Merlin instead. Note that the Merlin
machine didn't exist until
Lottery #268 - over 3 and a half years after the first draw.
- An initial estimate of £6.9m was made for the jackpot fund,
but this was revised downwards shortly afterwards to £5.9m because
of the enormous number of 3 match winners (over a million !).
- The organisers, although they won't admit it, must be disappointed and more
than a little embarrassed that, after all the hype, no-one was made a
millionaire after the first draw.
- The above table shows up the disparity between the top two prizes and the
rest - there is a huge difference between £46,349 and £528 !
- I'm sickened that I matched two numbers and was out by one on a third -
arrgh !
- £620,966 of unclaimed prizes (2.82% of the total prize pool) from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 18th May 1995 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
