Comments:
- The draw used ball set 5 in the Merlin machine and the average main Lotto prize was £32.61.
One in every 72.6 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.38% of players).
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £6,383,442.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 10 wins totalling £100.
- The 95th appearance of the main number
38 has extended its lead to 11 at the
top of the main number frequency
table.
It also has a lead of 10 at the top of the winning
number frequency
table
after its 111th such appearance.
- One ticket
combination
has now won 31 prizes in the 578 lotteries to date.
- Ticket sales
spectacularly crashed to their lowest level ever for
a Saturday draw (which resulted in the lowest ever
total prize pool for a Saturday draw where the jackpot was
won of course).
- This draw had the second lowest number of 4-match prize
winners and the lowest number
of 3-match and total prize winners for any Saturday draw
in the history of the lottery.
- Annoyingly, if this was a rollover or Super Draw, I'd have
won £10 on my third ticket, but as it was, the two
tickets I bought for this draw both drew a complete blank.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 3rd January 2002 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
