Comments:
- The draw used ball set 3 in the Galahad machine and the average main Lotto prize was £36.37.
One in every 55.0 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.82% of players).
- This was the 48th Super Draw and the jackpot pool was a guaranteed £20,000,001.
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £5,403,258.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 17 wins totalling £1,863.
This was an outright record number of prior
wins and total prior prizes,
including a 5-match prize of £1,655 back in
April 1998. This was the first time a jackpot
ticket had previously won a 5-match prize and was only "eight out"
(15 vs. 23) from matching all 6 numbers in that prior draw.
The 6 winning numbers in this draw have also become the first
to win a 4-match prize and a 5-match prize in previous draws.
- The 78th appearance of the main number 23
has brought it to within eight of the main number frequency
table leader
(the number 38).
- The fourth appearance of the 18 as a bonus
number has left the number 19 one adrift at
the bottom of the bonus number frequency
table.
- My four tickets performed dismally in this Super Draw,
with only one first one matching aything (one number). Maybe I
ought to start buying jackpot-winning tickets from 33 months
ago from now on :-)
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 12th July 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
