Comments:
- The draw used ball set 2 in the Galahad machine and the average main Lotto prize was £26.92.
One in every 40.1 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=2.49% of players).
- This was the 47th Super Draw and the jackpot pool was a guaranteed £20,000,000.
- If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £10,412,393.
- The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 8 wins totalling £80.
- The number 17
appeared for the
first time in 73 draws, which is an outright all-time
record for an absence. The longest current absentee is
now the number 48 (not appeared for 26 draws).
- This draw had the 3rd highest number of 5-matches
winners ever and, hence, also
had the third lowest 5-match prize of all time.
- This draw had the highest number of jackpot winners of
any Super Draw to date.
- I matched one number on my first, second and fourth
tickets and two numbers on my third ticket, but my "5 matches"
didn't win the dismal £407 5-match prize of course.
- Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm BST on Thursday 3rd May 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
