Comments:

• The draw used ball set 8 in the Arthur machine and the average main Lotto prize was £25.91. One in every 57.7 main Lotto tickets won a prize (=1.73% of players).
• If all 13,983,816 ticket combinations were additionally purchased for the main Lotto game, they would have made a loss of £8,014,344.
• The prior history of the main Lotto jackpot ticket included 11 wins totalling £110.
• The winning number 17 has now failed appear for 55 consecutive draws, which is an outright all-time record. It's also now the outright second longest absentee main number of all time (also 55 consecutive draws without appearing).
• I matched nothing on either of my two tickets but, annoyingly, if it had been a double rollover, I'd have won £10 on my 5th ticket.
• Unclaimed prizes from this week expired at 11.00pm GMT on Thursday 1st March 2001 and have been added to the National Lottery Distribution Fund.
